The Department of Micro Projects visited the creche in Narela (established under Project Aangan) to interact with the children and teachers there, as well as conduct an interactive and informative session about the importance of gender equality.
Our team started off the afternoon by playing some games so as to break the ice and make the children comfortable. This was followed by various activities that aimed at breaking gender stereotypes, so as to teach the children that it is their passion that must decide what they wish to do in life, not their gender. Since it was a difficult concept for them to wrap their heads around, we gave examples of various well known personalities such as Mary Kom, the boxer, and Sanjeev Kapoor, the chef.
At Enactus Hansraj, we believe it is the duty of us students to work towards breaking these stereotypes and creating a world that appreciates diversity.
